Free, forever

Everything Spool does

Spool is a free home for the 3D models you want to print: save them, put them in order, print them, and remember how each one turned out.

Save from anywhere

Tap share on a model in MakerWorld or Bambu Handy, pick Spool, and the save form opens with the picture, title and maker already filled in. On a computer, paste the link instead — same result.

A library you can actually search

Every model you save sits in one place with its photo, the maker's name, your tags, your notes and the filament you plan to use. Search by name, or filter down to just the PETG jobs, just your own designs, or just the ones you've never printed.

A print queue in your order

Decide what's next instead of scrolling a bookmark list. Drag models up and down, send an urgent one to the top, and tick things off as the printer works through them.

Remember how every print went

Log each print as it finishes: went well, needed a tweak, or failed — with a photo and a note about the settings. Next time you open that model you can see what happened last time, so you never repeat the same mistake.

Search MakerWorld inside Spool

The MakerWorld tab searches MakerWorld without leaving the app. Sort by what's most liked or newest, see what you've already got with a “Saved” tick, and tap anything to drop it into your library.

Your own designs too

Made something yourself? Add it with a cover photo and attach the real files — 3MF, STL, STEP and the rest. They're stored with your account, so you can pull them down on any machine you sign in on.

Print for your friends

Share a link with a friend and they can ask you to print something — either from your library or a link of their own. Each request comes in with their note and the day they'd like it by, and a yes from you drops it straight into your queue.

Backups you control

Export everything to a single file whenever you like: models, queue, print history, photos and your design files. Import it back on another device, or keep it as your own safety copy.

Works when the signal doesn't

Installed on your phone, Spool opens instantly and keeps working in a workshop with no signal. Anything you change while offline goes up to your account the moment you're back.

Getting models in

Four ways to fill your library, all of them a tap or a paste.

  • Share a link into Spool

On Android, tap share in MakerWorld or Bambu Handy and pick Spool. The save form opens with the picture, title and maker already filled in.

  • Paste any link

MakerWorld, Bambu Handy short links and Printables links all work. Spool reads the page and fills in the details for you.

  • Browse MakerWorld

Search MakerWorld inside the app, with categories, filters, sorting by most liked or newest, and a tick on anything you have already saved.

  • Browse Printables and MyMiniFactory

Two more free libraries with their own pages, the same search, refresh and save-in-one-tap behaviour.

Your library

One tidy place for everything you might print.

  • Search and filters

Find anything by name, or narrow down to a filament, a tag, your own designs, or the models you have never printed.

  • Your own tags

Make up tags as you save, and Spool remembers them for next time. You can tidy the list in settings.

  • Notes and filament

Keep the settings that worked, the filament you plan to use, and anything else you would otherwise forget.

  • Print sheet

Open any model and download a one page PDF with the picture, notes, filament and tags to keep beside the printer.

Planning what to print

Decide the order once, then work down the list.

  • An ordered queue

Drag models into the order you will print them and send the urgent one to the top.

  • Weekly print nights

Pick the days and time you usually print. Queued models show when they are due, and anything overdue is flagged.

  • Print jobs and a calendar

Track a job from planned to printing to done or failed, with the filament, grams, cost and time it took, and see it all on a month calendar.

  • Reminders

With the app installed on your phone, Spool can nudge you when a queued print is due.

After the print

So you never repeat a bad setting.

  • Log every print

Good, needs work or failed, with a photo, the filament used and a short note.

  • History on the model

Open a model later and last time's result is right there before you start again.

  • Issues worth remembering

Warping, stringing, a failed first layer: note it against the job so the next attempt goes better.

Your own designs

Spool is a home for the things you make, not just the things you find.

  • Upload your files

Add a design with a cover photo and attach the real files: 3MF, STL, STEP and the rest. Download them again on any device you sign in on.

  • A maker page

Your name, a short bio, a picture and a gallery of your best prints, kept private to you.

  • Claim your MakerWorld name

Prove a MakerWorld profile is yours with a short code, and your published models get a Yours badge in the app.

Printing for other people

For when you are the one with the printer.

  • Friend requests

Send a friend a link. They pick from what you have shared or paste a link of their own, add a note and the day they need it by. A yes from you drops it into your queue.

  • Confirmation when it is done

Starting and finishing a print updates the request, so your friend knows where it stands without asking.

  • A print store

List models with a price, stock and description on a public shop page. Orders come in with contact details, quantity, delivery or pickup and an address.

  • Quotes, free prints and shipping

Someone can ask for a price and you reply with one, including no charge at all. Add shipping cost and rough ship and delivery dates, then move the order through to delivered.

Your account and your data

Free, private, and easy to walk away with.

  • Sign in with Google, Apple or Microsoft

No passwords to make up and nothing to fill in. Your library then follows you to any phone or computer you sign in on.

  • Works offline

Installed on your phone, Spool opens instantly and keeps working with no signal. Changes go up the moment you are back.

  • Export and delete

Take everything as one file whenever you like, or delete the lot for good. No ads, nothing sold or shared.

How it works

  1. Save it

Found something on MakerWorld? Share it into Spool, or paste the link. The picture, title and maker are filled in for you.

  2. Line it up

Drop it into your print queue in the order you actually want to print, and move the urgent one to the top.

  3. Note how it went

After the print, log it: came out well, needed a tweak, or failed — with a photo and the filament you used.

Install it on your phone

Spool installs straight from the browser — there's no app store download.

  1. Open Spool in Chrome on your Android phone.

  2. Tap the three dots, then “Add to Home screen”, then “Install”.

  3. Open it from your home screen. It runs full screen, keeps working when you're out of signal, and shows up in the share menu so links from MakerWorld or Bambu Handy come straight in.

On an iPhone, use Safari's share button and “Add to Home Screen”. Everything works there too, apart from receiving shared links from other apps.

Your library is yours

Spool stores what you put in it — the models you save, your tags and notes, your print photos and your own design files — against your account, and nothing else. Nobody else can see it, it isn't sold or shared, and there are no ads. You can export the whole lot to a file at any time, or delete everything for good from Settings.

Common questions

Is Spool really free?

Yes. Spool is free to sign up for and free to use, with no trial and nothing to upgrade to.

Do I need an account?

Yes, and Google is the only way in. That means no password to invent or remember, and your library follows you to any phone, tablet or computer you sign in on.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Once installed, Spool opens and works without a connection — you can browse your library, reorder the queue and log prints. Anything you change goes up to your account as soon as you're back online.

Does it work on iPhone?

Yes, in Safari, and it can be added to your home screen. The one thing iPhones don't allow is sending a link into Spool from another app's share menu; you can paste the link instead.

Who can see my library?

Only you. Your models, notes, photos and files are tied to your account and nobody else can read them. Spool doesn't sell or share anything, and there are no ads.

Can I get my data back out?

Any time. Settings has an Export button that saves everything — models, queue, print history, photos and your own design files — as a single file you keep. There's also a button that deletes the lot for good.
